Welcome everyone who speaks English as a second language!

Sup all?

I get the fact that the title to this post isn’t very catchy, but it has recently come to my attention that an increasing number of non native English language speakers are using Surface Languages.

Hello, hi, hola, cześć, ciao, salut, bună, привет

I know this because I periodically check the log files, and I realised that several links were from websites from different countries and in languages other than English. I followed some, clicked, read (via google translate) and was surprised and chuffed to see that SL is being recommended by the non English speaking world …

… which got me thinking.

My next project on Surface languages will be to add an option on the sentences page to allow the sentences to be learnt from any of the existing languages. This will make the page useful for non English speakers, and also for English speakers who for example want to learn French through Spanish etc.

If you are a non-native English speaker, and like the idea, comment and let me know what you think:)

Besos and baci,

  1. You have some good courses and a great way to learn a language via audio and sentence structure. I had a question on plans if you will be expanding into more of the eastern languages such as Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cantonese and so forth; especially Korean (it interests me). There doesn’t seem to be a great course out there for Korean, Vietnamese or Cantonese and I believe you guys can fill the vacuum with your method. Just wondering if there is any talk for developing such courses in the future. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.

    1. Thanks for the comment. To answer your question I tend to add and expand languages depending on my current interest – which at the moment is German – so if anything I will be adding German sentences at some point over the coming months.

In an ideal world, I’d love to add the languages you mention, but I run Surface Languages as a hobby, as and when I have time, in between work, family, walking our hound etc so I have limited time available. So currently I have no immediate plans to add them, but who knows what opportunities will arise in the future…
