Gibts is the third person singular of geben 'there is'.

This is used above to ask where any café is located as opposed to a specific and known café.

German nouns have gender.

The gender of the noun being referred to dictates whether der,die,das are chosen when asking where something is, and which of es/er/sie are used when replying.
