The Cyrillic Alphabet

The Russian language is written in the Cyrliic script. It is not necessary to learn Cyrliic if you are solely interested in speaking Russian.

Surface Languages allows you to learn either using Cyrliic or by using a romanized version of the Cyrillic aplhabet which approximates the Russian sounds using the roman alphabet. Cyrillic has many similarities to the Greek alphabet, and if you are learning both Greek and Russian, you can see this from our Greek pages.
