The Vulgate. Word frequency

The one hundred most frequently occuring words in the vulgate.

I am a geek, and at times I do geek things. Anyway, I wrote a quick program to analize the vulgate text and came up with this list.

Words may have more than one meaning, and the list includes different instances of the same word in different forms, for example :- deus, dei, deo which are different declensions of the same word (deus).

I've left these in the list as it is an aid to reading the vulgate, and so as far as possible, I've given each an appropriate translation. Learning high frequency words is a rewarding strategy when reading the Vulgare, which wasn't *supposed* to be particularly difficult to read and uses (generally) a simple style of Latin.

As you can see, this is a work in progress, which I will add to as the evenings draw in ...

Again, these are a work in progress, and a digital aide memoire to remind me to finish adding examples for each word.

Eius. Seventh most frequently used word in the vulgate. Examples.

inspiravit in faciem eius spiraculum vitae. 'He breathed into the face of him (his face) the breath of life'.
